Global Fixed Income Strategy - May 2019

Monthly insights and updates from the Invesco Fixed Income team

Jun 4, 2019 | Invesco Fixed Income

In this latest monthly issue of Global Fixed Income Strategy, Invesco Fixed Income's (IFI) macro team shares its outlook for European growth. Though beset by global trade tensions, Brexit and other European political headwinds, sluggish growth in the eurozone economy may pick up in the second half of the year.

Turning to the Asian US dollar bond market, the credit team discusses the market's rapid development and the advantages offered by these bonds. Asian companies' increased reliance on bond markets has spurred its rapid growth. Now, at US$1.1 trillion in outstanding bonds, the Asian US dollar bond market ranks alongside the US bank loan and high yield bond markets in terms of size.

In the Bottom Line (Q&A), IFI’s Global Liquidity team talks about the progress made and hurdles still faced in the transition from London Interbank Offered Rate (LIBOR) to Secured Overnight Financing Rate (SOFR).
